Yes, you can manage a Backordering Only Workflow in QuickBooks Commerce, but it would depend on adhering to rules in QuickBooks Commerce, and the way it works posing some limitations.
What you can do:
- Set up all the SKUs in QuickBooks Commerce with 0 Stock On Hand (SoH).
- Then, create sales orders for those variants even if there is no stock yet. Alternatively, you can choose to sell these in B2B and other Sales Channels, given that you enable the 'Keep Selling Past 0' toggle in your B2B settings.
- Then create a Backorder for the sales orders that fulfill the criteria for backorder.
- Upon receiving the items from the PO created by the backorder feature, you can start fulfilling the pending sales orders.
Do note that if there is sufficient stock to fulfill your sales order(s), QuickBooks Commerce will not prompt a Backordering alert.
