This article is part of a series helping users get started with the Template Workflows we have included in Automation. To use a Template, visit here and select a Workflow to edit and apply to your orders!
The Workflow helps you to automatically add a Line Item to an Order based on the criteria you select.
Upon Sales Order creation, this Workflow checks the Order Source by ID. This is selectable as a dropdown menu when you edit the template and all integrated sales channels in your account will be available.
On the workflow show page (shown above) it will display the channel by ID. For example, Shopify's ID is 2 and the B2B Commerce Platform ID is 7, etc. However, you can also select the channel by Name.
Here we also check to see if the Total Order Value is equal to or greater than $100, therefore qualifying for our Free Gift Line item. If it is, we then use the 'Add an Item To Order' rule to add an SKU in a specified quantity, and with a unit price. We will set the unit price to '0' here so that it does not add to the Order Total. We can also add a Note to the Line Item which will be visible to the Customer on documents such as Email confirmations and invoices.
This action will appear on the 'Order History' column of the Sales Order page, as an action performed by the user on your account who created the Workflow and Automation.
