This article is part of a series helping users get started with the Template Workflows we have included in Automation. To use a Template, visit here and select a Workflow to edit and apply to your orders!
The Workflow helps you to automatically check if there is enough stock to fulfill and order, and if not to route the order to another backup stock location.
Upon Sales Order creation, this Workflow checks if there is low/insufficient stock in the assigned Warehouse to successfully complete the Order. The first choice Warehouse is editable as a dropdown menu when you edit the template and all Stock Locations in your account will be displayed.
On the workflow show page (shown above) it will display the Location by ID (e.g., our Primary Warehouse ID is 30242). However, you can select the Stock Location by name when editing the workflow.
If an order needs to be routed to another Warehouse, you must select the secondary location in the final option. You can create as many fallback options as you require by repeating the steps above.
This action will appear on the 'Order History' column of the Sales Order page, as an action performed by the user on your account who created the Workflow and via Automation.
