This article is part of a series helping users get started with the Template Workflows we have included in Automation. To use a Template, visit here and select a Workflow to edit and apply to your orders!
The Workflow helps you to add a Shipping Cost line item to certain orders based on the criteria you select.
Upon Sales Order creation, this Workflow checks for the total order value in order to offer free shipping to Customers who make a purchase of $1000 or more.
You can select any criteria in this first section that can relate to either the specific details of the order itself such as:
- value,
- the number of items,
- or to the Customer making the order and the region they are from.
Then we simply select the 'Add Shipping Cost To Order' item and input a price. The value 0 represents Free Shipping. The currency will be inherited from the Sales Order, so to make workflows for multiple currencies if the Shipping Costs differ, you must duplicate the Workflow. This functionality is also available by using our Zonal Shipping rates feature, however, Automation will enable you to be more precise around which specific Orders the rates are applied to.
Refer to the example below. This line item is then automatically added to the Sales Orders.
This action will appear on the 'Order History' column of the Sales Order page, as an action performed by the user on your account who created the Workflow and via Automation.
