QuickBooks Commerce’s Price List Categories
QuickBooks Commerce lets you create and manage as many price lists as you’d like for all of the products that you buy and sell.
Within QuickBooks Commerce you can manage two types of price lists:
- Buy price lists: used to create purchase orders, these price lists can be provided by your suppliers
- Sell price lists: used to create sales orders, these price lists can be associated with your sales channels and/or business customers
How to Create a New Price List
Go to the Inventory section then click the Price Lists tab.
Click the “Create New Price Lists” button located at the top right of the screen.
Select the price list’s type (Buy or Sell) and assign a currency.
Click the “Create Price List” button, then click “Proceed to add prices via .csv.”
Click “No, I need to download a template to fill in.”
Next, you'll be asked to select the price list that you’d like to modify and which product attributes to include in the .csv file.
By default, the required attributes for the chosen price list are selected and can be seen at the top of the image below.
Click the “Build .csv template” button and then click the “Download Product Sheet” button.
Download the .csv template and fill in the fields using Excel or Google Sheets - don’t forget to save as .csv when you’re finished.
In this example, I’ll use Google Sheets to enter my prices.
Once the price values have been entered, click the “Upload filled .csv” button.
How to upload a price list
Upload the .csv price list file into QuickBooks Commerce.
QuickBooks Commerce will process the .csv file then ask you to confirm the changes.
If there are no errors, you’ll see this message and be able to view your price lists.
With this price list now successfully updated in QuickBooks Commerce, if you have QuickBooks Commerce set to be the master of product details, QuickBooks Commerce will sync any price updates to sales channels with this price list selected as the default.

.csv Upload Error
If there are any issues with your .csv file that would prevent QuickBooks Commerce from correctly processing the changes, a breakdown will be displayed.
Click “Download spreadsheet with errors” to download the .csv file detailing each of the errors in your original .csv file.
Edit the file to correct the issues and proceed with the upload by clicking the re-upload the corrected spreadsheet option, or starting the process from the beginning.
With the price list now successfully created, you’ll have the option to set it as a default, map it to a particular wholesale customer or to a particular sales channel.
