In this article, you will learn how to create and complete Production Orders for batch tracked Manufactured Variants that contains batch tracked Components.
Creating Production Orders with batch tracked Components
Batch tracked Components can also be used in your Production Orders. When finalizing a Production Order with batched tracked variants, you will be asked to select which Batch ID the stock will be taken from.
Once you have assigned the Batched ID and quantity, click Finalize to update the Production Order status to the Finalized state.
You can also edit the batch assignment on a Finalized Production Order if you decide to take the stock from a different Batch ID. To do this, simply click “Edit” on the Production Order then edit the batch assignment.
Completing Production Order for Manufactured batch tracked variants with batch tracked Components
For batch tracked Manufactured Variants, you will notice that the Production Order will have a “Batch ID” and “Expiration Date” field. This will allow you to immediately assign a batch and set the expiration date to the finished product upon completion of the Production Order.
Before marking the Production Order as completed, make sure to properly account for the wastage of each component. If there are unused quantity on the batch tracked Components, you will be asked if you want to return the unconsumed units back to your inventory. You will also have the option of selecting which Batch ID these unconsumed units will be assigned to.
