In QuickBooks Commerce, a Shipment is created when a Sales Order has been partially or fully packed.
A Shipment can have the status "Packed" or "Fulfilled".
When a Shipment has the status "Packed," it's ready for your team to fulfill.
When you change the status of your Shipment to "Fulfilled," it indicates that the Shipment has been sent to your customer.
To create a Shipment for a Sales Order, you must first pick the Sales Order. To learn how to create a pick list, please click here.
Once your Sales Order has been picked, you can pack it to create a Shipment. To do so, go to the Inventory section and click on the Orders section. Select the Sales Order that you would like to pack.

You can choose to either partially or fully pack each Sales Order.
Creating a Partial Shipment by Partially Packing a Sales Order
To partially pack a Sales Order, click the "+ Manual" button and proceed to pack the desired variants in the Sales Order.

This allows you to select parts of the Sales Order to be packed, thereby creating multiple Shipments for a single Sales Order.

If you created a partial Shipment, you can click the "Ship" button to change the status of this Shipment to "Fulfilled" (Shipment #1).
When you pack the remainder of the Sales Order a second Shipment will be created that you can fulfill at a later date.

If you choose to fulfill both partial Shipments at the same time, you can click the "Ship All" button and fulfill the entire Sales Order.
Creating a Complete Shipment by Fully Packing a Sales Order
To completely pack a Sales Order, click the "Pack All" button. Remember, your Sales Order must first be picked in order to pack it and create a Shipment.

A Shipment will be created with the status "Packed."
Review the shipment and click "Ship All" to ship the Sales Order and its status will be changed to "Fulfilled."
